the björketorp runestone, created in about
500-700CE, is one of the runestones to bestow a curse on all those who may attempt to destroy the stone. it is inscribed in elder futhark during its transitional period to younger futhark, a newer version of the language. it is read from the bottom up, left to right.

I, master of the runes(?) conceal here runes of power. Incessantly
(plagued by) maleficence, (doomed to) insidious death (is) he who breaks
this (monument).
I saw someone ask for a birthday blessing and thought of sharing this:
Light a candle at the stroke midnight or sunrise. Use white or red, depending on your choice and practice.
No fancy rituals needed, a simple candle blessing would suffice.
“This candle I light on this special day, And ask for blessings, come my way:
This flame I raise; burn bright and gold, Bless me, as I turn a year old.
(Optional to insert other wishes, best if they rhyme too. Otherwise, continue to the next verse.)
Bring light to draw love, Bring light for good health, Bring light for wisdom, Bright light for wealth.
Glowing beacon, be my guide and light, Your flame be with me, all day and night.
Flame of life, burn bright and strong, Bless me and mine all year long.”
Let the candle burn down safely and carry its warmth within you. If you want something even more special, burn that candle inside a lamp. As if to symbolically, having that lamp be your guide on days when you need it the most.
